Athens – Revolutionary Struggle case: Release of anarchist Christoforos Kortesis from prison – Petition of Vaggelis Stathopoulos for conditional release to be examined on 15/7

On July 5th, 2013 it became known that the motion of Christoforos Kortesis for conditional release was accepted. The comrade walked out of Koridallos prison under restrictive orders (2,000 euro monetary bail, obligation to present himself twice a month to his nearest police station, ban from exiting the country).

IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF COMRADE VAGGELIS STATHOPOULOS

In a political trial for the Revolutionary Struggle case, the State imposed a total of 165 years in prison without a shred of evidence. Anarchist fighter Vaggelis Stathopoulos, who denied all accusations against him, defended comradely relations, and the rightness of subversive action, the necessity to resist and revolt. For these reasons, the comrade was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison. On Monday the 15th of July 2013 his motion for conditional release will be examined by a council of five appellate judges.
