Athens: Outcome of the trial against anarchists for the occupation of FLASH commercial radio station

After consecutive postponements, the trial for the occupation of Flash radio station which was carried out on January 10th, 2012 in solidarity with all prosecuted for the Revolutionary Struggle case and resulted in mass detentions, took place on March 8th, 2013.

The people charged for the occupation of Flash radio station read a collective political statement to the court, and emphasized: ‘We will continue to stand even more combative in solidarity with our comrades who are prosecuted for the Revolutionary Struggle case. We’ve got right on our side, and we will win.’

All of them were sentenced to one year imprisonment suspended for three years because they had refused to give fingerprints, while the charges initially pressed against them for ‘praising criminal actions’ were dropped. So, all defendants walked ‘free’ from court. However, the judges imposed a fine against one comrade who did not get a suspended sentence due to an earlier conviction, so he will have to appeal the decision.
