Athens: Solidarity gathering for the comrade Kostas Katsenos, accused for the Revolutionary Struggle case

Kostas Katsenos is still remanded in custody, accused for the case of Revolutionary Struggle, whose trial is underway. On Tuesday, March 27th, the comrade will appear before the Appellate Judges Council that will decide upon the extension of his pretrial incarceration or his release, since he has completed already 6 months in prison.

In April 2010 the anarchist members of Revolutionary Struggle Pola Roupa, Kostas Gournas and Nikos Maziotis were arrested and held in pretrial detention until they reached the limit of 18 months, on October 11th, 2011, when they were released from Koridallos prisons. In April 2010 the State also kidnapped the anarchists Vaggelis Stathopoulos, Christoforos Kortesis and Sarantos Nikitopoulos, who were also held before trial and were ordered released only after the council’s judgment on April 5th, 2011. These three comrades, as well as Marie Beraha (the companion of K.Gournas) are accused for participation in the organization Revolutionary Struggle, but all four have repeatedly denied all accusations. Kostas Katsenos was wanted by the authorities for almost a year and a half; he remained fugitive, until he turned himself in a few days before the start of the trial against Revolutionary Struggle (which officially began on October 5th, 2011). Comrade K.Katsenos has since remained in custody in Koridallos prisons, even though he denies all charges. We demand his immediate release from the hellhole.
